TUNIS - Libyan refugees are continuing to arrive at the Tunisian border, with the air link to repatriate non-Libyans also ongoing. Around 16 flights departed yesterday from the Djerba-Zarzis international airport, taking 2,470 people back to Chad, Sudan, Ghana, Mali and Egypt.
Although a new camp in Ras Jedir set up by the International and Tunisian Red Cross organisations has alleviated the situation (with around 400 people being helped today), the number of refugees in the Choucha camp remains very high.
Around 3,000 refugees arrived at the border yesterday, around a thousand of them Libyans. Diplomatic staff working in Tripoli are also continuing to arrive, and will be flown home from Tunisia.
