Inactivity is observed in most of the tax offices in Greece.

In the 286 tax offices, 360,370 cases were left pending by the end of the first half of the year. In the 34 biggest tax offices, there is no progress in regards to tax collections and controls.

According to statistics of the Ministry, in 28 out of 34 tax offices employees completed on average less than one control each in June. In the other six tax offices, the rate of controls reached 1.82 per employee at the most.

It was also observed that the tax payers do not comply with the demands of the tax offices regarding tax declaration and tax collection due to lack of money. The procedures regarding the due debts and the confiscations also move in a very slow pace as the reimbursement percentage is below 1%.
